With a message for Wilson and Broccoli, Daniel Craig responds to Amazon MGM assuming creative control of James Bond movies.

In the films Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time to Die (2021), Daniel Craig portrayed James Bond.

After decades of family control, actor Daniel Craig, who portrayed James Bond in five installments of the film series, has responded to Amazon MGM assuming creative control of the 007 franchise. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, longtime Bond custodians, announced their retirement. While Daniel did not discuss the takeover in his interview with Variety, he did discuss his "respect, admiration and love" for Michael and Barbara.

Daniel declared, "My love, respect, and admiration for Barbara and Michael have not changed. I hope Barbara's future endeavors will be amazing, and I hope I may be a part of them. I also wish Michael a long, restful, and well-earned retirement.

Regarding James Bond movies
Daniel became well-known for his role as the fictional secret agent in five movies: Spectre (2015), Skyfall (2012), Quantum of Solace (2008), Casino Royale (2006), and No Time to Die (2021).

James Bond has been portrayed on screen by seven different actors. They include Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, and Sean Connery in addition to Daniel. Following the release of No Time To Die, Daniel declared he would not be playing the role again.Since 2023, there has been a search for a new Bond.

Regarding the acquisition of Amazon MGM Studios, Michael and Barbara established a new joint company wherein they will jointly own the intellectual property rights to James Bond. Amazon MGM, however, retains artistic control. There was no disclosure of the financial terms. At some point this year, the purchase is anticipated to finalize.

"After over 60 amazing years as a 007, I'm taking a break from producing the James Bond movies to concentrate on art and humanitarian endeavors. Thus, Barbara and I concur that it's time for Amazon MGM Studios, our reliable partner, to guide James Bond into the future," Michael said in a statement.

In 2022, Amazon paid USD 6.1 billion to acquire MGM Studios. According to reports, Michael and Barbara have argued with Amazon MGM on Bond's future ever since the Daniel era of 007 ended with 2021's No Time to Die.

Since Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli acquired the rights to adapt Ian Fleming's books and started a series of 25 Bond movies produced by Eon Productions, starting with Dr. No in 1962, Bond has been a family company.
