Last week saw the release of Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, which is doing well at the box office. Vicky plays the role of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Laxman Utekar's biographical film. In disguise as the Maratha king, a Nagpur fan rode into a theater. As the end credits rolled, he was even joined by other men who were chanting slogans and playing dhols. Many others are responding to the deed, and the video has already gone viral on social media.At the Chhaava showing, a man brings a horse into the theater.
Inside the theater, the man could be seen yelling "Jai Bhavani!" in the footage. There were several other men playing dhols around him while he sat on the horse. The identical message was chanted by a number of moviegoers who also joined in, recording the scene on their cell phones.
"Mai ek chips ka packet andar nahi le jaa sakta aur yeh ghoda le gaye" (I can't even bring a packet of chips into the theater and this guy brought a horse) was the amusing comment made by an X user in response to the video. "Next time bring the famous lion that Sambhalji fought with also," a second person commented.
One comment said, "I can't even take my D-Mart ka popcorn, but you can bring a horse inside? This is unfair, or bahut nainsaafi hai re. "I have the utmost admiration for those who opposed repressive British and Mughal rule, but why do we make everything into a circus? Another person said, "We also prefer to live in the past because we are uncertain about the future."
Vicky portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the movie, and Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai Bhonsale, his wife. Diana Penty portrays Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Aurangzeb's daughter, while Akshaye Khanna plays Aurangzeb. The background score and soundtrack for the movie were written by AR Rahman. In just four days since its premiere, the movie has made nearly ₹140 crore.
