After defeating the South African women's team by nine wickets, the India women's team advanced to the Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2025 final.

Following their victory in the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, the Indian team and its support staff were given a financial prize of ₹5 crore by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Sunday.

After defeating the South African women's team by nine wickets, the India women's team advanced to the Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2025 final.

Earlier, India won the title for the second consecutive time after reaching 84 for one in 11.2 overs while chasing a meager goal of 83 against the Proteas. They did it with 52 balls remaining.

With an undefeated 44 off 33 balls, Gongadi Trisha led India in scoring, while Sanika Chalke was still undefeated with 26 off 22 balls.

In a previous clinical display, Trisha (3/15) led the Indian bowlers to dismiss South Africa for 82 in 20 overs.

Aayushi Shukla (2/9) Parunika Sisodia (2/6) and Vaishnavi Sharma (2/23) also contributed with the ball for India.

After choosing to take the first strike, South Africa's batting collapsed, with 23-year-old Mieke van Voorst leading the way. Four of their batters were unable to open their accounts, while only four of them were able to score in double figures.

India defeated England by seven wickets in the final to win the trophy in the first edition earlier in 2023.

Suryakumar Yadav, captain of the India Men's T20 team, congratulated Team India on their victory. Suryakumar commended the Indian team's performance in an interview with ANI. "Our U-19 girls are in the dominant tournament. Excellent teamwork and a well-earned title. Suryakumar Yadav told ANI, "Congratulations to ICC Chairman Jay Shah for putting on such a successful event.
