2025 Maha Kumbh Mela: Droupadi Murmu, President according to her office, to take a holy bath at Triveni Sangam on Monday.
In a statement released on Sunday, Rashtrapati Bhavan stated that the President would visit the Digital Kumbh Anubhav Centre, do Pooja and Darshan at Akshayvat and Hanuman Mandir, take a holy dip, and perform Pooja at Sangam during her day-long visit to Prayagraj.A statement from the Uttar Pradesh government states that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would accompany President Murmu when she prays at the Akshayavat and Bade Hanuman Temple.
During the Maha Kumbh, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the nation's first president, also took a sacred dip.
Beginning on Paush Purnima (January 13), Maha Kumbh is the biggest spiritual and cultural event in the world, drawing followers from all over the world. It will go on till February 26th, Mahashivratri.
At Triveni Sangam, PM Modi takes a dip:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a holy plunge in Prayagraj's Triveni Sangam Ghat earlier on February 5. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was with him.
While swimming in Sangam, the prime minister wore blue pants and a deep orange jersey. He later gave an arti performance at the ghat as well.
After taking a bath in the sacred Sangam today, I was blessed with the opportunity to worship at Prayagraj Mahakumbh. With Mother Ganga's blessings, my mind is so much more at rest and content. I prayed for everyone's health, happiness, prosperity, and well-being. "Har-Har Gange!" read a Hindi post by PM Modi on X.
In addition, he stood in the water, held "rudraksha" beads, and recited mantras while offering prayers.
PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath went on a boat trip in the Yamuna River before taking a sacred plunge at Triveni Sangam. PM Modi will be visiting Prayagraj for the second time in three months.
