On February 26th, Mahashivaratri, the Maha Kumbh Mela, which began in January, will come to an end.

During the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, President Droupadi Murmu took a sacred dip in the Triveni Sangam.

She stood in the Sangam, the meeting place of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, and offered prayers after taking the sacred dip while wearing a white saree. The president later conducted "pooja" and Ganga Aarti.

Devotees from all over the country and the world flock to the world's greatest spiritual and cultural event, the magnificent Maha Kumbh Mela, which started on January 13. On February 26, the event will come to an end in honor of Mahashivratri.

President Murmu was accompanied to the Sangam by Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, and Anandiben Patel, the governor of Uttar Pradesh.

President Murmu will also take a darshan at Akshayavat and Hanuman Mandir following the holy dip, according to a previous statement released by Rashtrapati Bhavan. "She will also visit the Digital Kumbh Anubhav Centre," the release continued.

According to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will go with the President to the Akshayavat and Bade Hanuman Temple.

It is noteworthy because during the Maha Kumbh Mela, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the nation's first president, also took a holy bath.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sacred dip in the Sangam during his visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela just last week. The PM stood in the river, holding 'rudraksha' beads, and prayed and sang mantras.

The Maha Kumbh fair, which is held every 12 years, has seen over 40 crore devotees take a holy plunge at the Sangam thus far, according to the Uttar Pradesh government.

According to the government, eight crore devotees participated in the Amrit Snan on January 29, the day of Mauni Amavasya, which had the largest turnout to date.

A number of other well-known figures and prominent political figures have also enrolled in the Sangam. They include Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal, Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav, choreographer and director Remo D'Souza, and actors Hema Malini and Anupam Kher.
