Summit of WAVES
A significant step toward establishing India as a global center for content development was taken in December 2024 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the opening of the World Audio Visual Entertainment (WAVES) Summit.

Modi encouraged young Indian creative industry people to attend the Net Year's Summit.

"The World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit, or WAVES, will be held in our nation for the first time next year. Giants from the entertainment and media sectors as well as individuals from the creative community will visit India for the WAVES summit. This summit is a significant step in establishing India as a global center for content production. "I am pleased to inform you that young creators are also taking part in this summit," PM Modi said at the 117th "Mann Ki Baat" announcement, according to the news agency.

Speaking about the country's emerging creator economy, Modi stated that the industry is expected to provide fresh vitality as India aims to reach a $5 trillion GDP. According to the news agency, which cited a Ministry of Information & Broadcasting announcement, the WAVES has provided a platform for producers working in animation, visual effects, AR-VR, and virtual production.
