L-G informed CM Atishi, "Cursed by Yamuna," as she accepted her resignation.

According to reports, Delhi LG VK Saxena told Atishi that the Kejriwal-led government disregarded popular concerns and that the AAP's defeat was caused by a "curse by Yamuna Maiya."

When departing Delhi chief minister Atishi went to Raj Bhawan to tender her resignation, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena allegedly told her that she had lost the assembly elections because of a "curse by Yamuna Maiya," according to ANI.

The news agency cited sources to say that Delhi lieutenant governor VK Saxena reminded Atishi that he had often warned the government about public interest concerns, especially the cleaning of the Yamuna river, when she came at Raj Niwas to tender her resignation.

According to reports, Sexena told Atishi that the AAP lost because of a "curse by Yamuna Maiya," claiming that the Arvind Kejriwal-led government had disregarded his repeated warnings about public issues, like as Yamuna's state.

One of the main campaign issues in the lead-up to the Delhi assembly elections was Yamuna's cleanliness. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his election speech that the BJP will make "Yamuna ji the identity of Delhi," AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the Haryana government of putting "poison in the Yamuna."

With a historic win in the Delhi assembly elections, the BJP put an end to the AAP's 27-year rule and regained control of the nation's capital.

With 48 of 70 seats, the party secured a two-thirds majority, while the AAP's number fell precipitously from 62 to 22.

After a fiercely contested race, Atishi defeated Ramesh Bidhuri of the BJP by 3,521 votes to retain the Kalkaji seat.

Since several of the AAP's top leaders, including former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, lost their seats, her victory was particularly noteworthy.

To pave the way for the establishment of a new BJP-led government in the nation's capital, lieutenant governor VK Saxena disbanded the seventh legislative assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
