According to John Abraham, he tries to strike a balance when selecting the appropriate scripts. The Diplomat will be his next film.
John Abraham is an actor that has been in the business for more than 20 years. The actor has never ceased to astound fans with his remarkable physique, eight-pack abs, and physical modifications, from Jism to Dostana and the more recent Pathan. The actor acknowledged feeling objectified for his body in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, and he addressed this by selecting screenplays that also emphasized writing.John's words
"I did feel objectified," John admitted in the interview. "John, you are probably the only man who can be objectified by women," I was actually told more frequently than not. Strangely, I didn't feel guilty about it; rather, I took it as a complement. I felt good about it, but yes, we are usually engaged in a struggle where appearances are more important than performance. I believe that one must choose the appropriate films and storylines in order to achieve that balance. To illustrate his point, he cited movies such as Madras Cafe, Kabul Express, Taxi No 9211, and No Smoking.
"At first, it was about the body."
Then he added, "I have been stressing on writing, in any film that I am producing or doing, because I think the most important thing in a film is the way it is written," when asked if The Diplomat is also an entrée into such kinds of films. And it becomes more about the scenes after it's written well and you can deliver those words the way your director wants you to. At first, everything was about the body, the physicality. Does anyone still have a desire to watch that? Yes, and I want to do that because a large audience wants to watch that! However, there is also a sizable audience that respects and desires to view the information.
John's next film is The Diplomat, in which he portrays JP Singh, an Indian diplomat in real life. On March 7, it opens in theaters.
