Elon Musk has turned US President Donald Trump into a "puppet of capitalism," according to Hansal Mehta: Damn democracy!

Many people were taken aback by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk's recent visit to the White House with his kid when US President Donald Trump addressed media regarding a new executive order intended to reduce the federal workforce. Many have been outraged by the pictures of Elon and his son at the White House, including filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who believes Elon has made Trump into a puppet.

Hansal expressed his opinions on the increasing impact of capitalism on the economy on Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter.Everyone should "wake up and smell the coffee" before it's too late, he added.

"Elon Musk has successfully diminished a nation's president to the status of a financial pawn and a puppet of capitalism. "Damn democracy," Hansal wrote. "Governments become redundant in the face of big money," he continued. Get up and take in the aroma of the coffee.

President Donald Trump has appointed the tech entrepreneur to spearhead federal cost-cutting initiatives. In the absence of budget cuts, he claimed, the US would become "bankrupt".
