Ranveer Allhabadia petitioned the Supreme Court on Friday to have several FIRs against him combined because of reportedly offensive comments he made while appearing as a guest on the YouTube program "India's Got Latent."After his attorney brought up the case, CJI Sanjiv Khanna stated that it would be scheduled for hearing shortly.
The YouTuber publicly apologized after Allahbadia's remark caused a huge stir on social media and throughout the nation. He admitted in a video posted to his X account that his remarks were improper and insensitive.
He acknowledged that the comment lacked humor in addition to being improper. Allahbadia apologized for his error of judgment and added that comedy was not his strong suit.
Not only was my remark improper, but it was also unfunny. I'm only here to apologize; comedy is not my specialty," Allahbadia remarked.
He pledged to utilize his position more sensibly going forward in response to worries about his impact on younger viewers. "I would never disrespect my family," he continued. Additionally, Allahbadia asked that the "insensitive sections" from the episode of "India's Got Latent" when his remarks were uttered be cut out.
"I have requested that the video's creators take down the offensive parts. In the end, all I can say is I'm sorry, and I sincerely hope you will pardon me as a human being," he said.
NCW calls for Samay Raina and Allahabadia
Due to their "derogatory and racist" comments on the "India's Got Latent" show, YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, and others have been called by the National Commission for Women. The hearing will take place at the NCW office in New Delhi on February 17.
The Commission has taken serious notice of the rude and vulgar comments made by the show's producers, Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra, as well as content developers, Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani.
