Patel's sister and parents traveled from India to attend the hearing, along with Alina Habba and Ric Grenell, Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions.

According to the Daily Mail, Patel sat behind country music artist Alexis Wilkins, who ended up becoming his girlfriend, as a gesture of solidarity.

A source told the newspaper that Patel and Wilkins first crossed paths in October 2022 at a Republican ReAwaken America gathering. January 2023 marked the beginning of the pair's romance.

When Patel's confirmation hearing took place on Thursday, internet searches on whether he was single skyrocketed.
