With a download speed of more than 1 Gbps, the OnePlus 13 series smartphones are the first in India to enable the Jio 5.5G network.

On some handsets, such as the OnePlus 13, Jio's 5.5G technology provides the fastest download rates.

The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R, the company's newest flagship smartphones, were unveiled on Tuesday. They were also the first devices in the nation to support the Jio 5.Jio's enhanced Component Carrier Aggregation (3CC) 5G network can provide download speeds of more than 1 gigabit per second.

"Thanks to our collaboration with Jio, the OnePlus 13 series are the first smartphones in India to provide 5.5G. For faster connectivity and improved performance, your OnePlus 13 series device may connect to three separate network cells—possibly even on different towers simultaneously—thanks to state-of-the-art 5.5G technology.James Paterson, senior global PR manager at OnePlus, stated during the company's winter launch event, "Now you'll stay updated with a cricket score even faster."

In a live demonstration, OnePlus demonstrated that the OnePlus 13 can reach a peak download speed of 1,014.86 Mbps on the Jio 5.5G (3CC-compliant) network, while on a standard 5G network based on non-3CC technology, it can reach 277.78 Mbps. Up to 380% quicker download rates are possible with this technology, depending on the strength of the cellular signal. A "5GA" icon will appear at the top of the screen when a phone is connected to a 5.5G network, signifying that it has access to the fastest network type.

A 5G smartphone that is compatible with the 3CC is all that is required to access the Jio 5.5G network; no settings need to be enabled.
