According to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, the Indian squad would adhere to the International Cricket Council's (ICC) dress code regulations in "true letter and spirit" beginning next month in Pakistan and Dubai. On February 19, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will begin.The BCCI reportedly objected to the squad shirt for the huge event featuring the word "Pakistan," according to an IANS report. At an ICC event, all teams are required to wear the name of the host country in addition to the tournament logo.
Saikia, who took Jay Shah's place at the BCCI, denied any rumors that the organization had protested the inclusion of Pakistan's name on the team's official jersey. "During the Champions Trophy, the BCCI will adhere to all uniform-related ICC regulations," Saikia told PTI.
"We are going to adhere to the dress code and logo exactly as the other teams do," he continued.
Is Rohit Sharma going to visit Pakistan?
However, it is still unclear whether captain Rohit Sharma will travel to Lahore for the opening ceremony of the ICC Champions Trophy. The curtain-raiser for the massive event is scheduled for February 16–17. All captains are required by ICC regulations to attend the pre-tournament press conference and a picture shoot.
"It hasn't been decided yet whether Rohit Sharma will visit Pakistan for ICC media appearances," Saikia continued. The 15-man team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will also play the ODI series against England, was previously revealed by the BCCI.
India will play all of its matches in Dubai, including the knockout stages if they qualify, as part of the hybrid format of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The remaining games will be hosted by Pakistan.
