Trump also announced plans to impose tariffs on copper, aluminum, and steel—three essential minerals utilized by the US military. He bemoaned the decline in the US's capacity to manufacture ships and military hardware and emphasized the significance of returning production there. The president also reaffirmed his goal of allowing the United States to produce rare earth minerals, which he claimed were being impeded by environmental rules.He indicated his plan to loosen environmental regulations in order to increase domestic production by saying, "We have some of the best rare earth anywhere in the world, but we're not allowed to use it because the environmentalists got there first."
