When the Ranji Trophy returns, Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant all perform poorly and finish in single figures.

Shubman Gill was sent back for 4 off 8 balls, Yashasvi Jaswal only managed 5 off 8 balls, and Rohit Sharma was out for 3 off 19 balls.

India's top players, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rohit Sharma, all had terrible Ranji Trophy outcomes. In the sixth round of the Ranji Trophy, Gill was sent back for 4 off 8 balls, Jaswal only managed 5 off 8 balls, while India skipper Rohit was dismissed for 3 off 19 balls. Pant, on the other hand, was out for just one off ten balls.

Rohit appeared totally unprepared for the Mumbai vs. Jammu and Kashmir Elite Group A encounter at the BKC ground in Mumbai, which was his first Ranji Trophy play in almost ten years. The free-flowing batter that used to terrify bowlers everywhere was nowhere to be seen. After Mumbai skipper Ajinkya Rahane chose to bat first on Thursday morning, he was severely beaten by J&K pacers Auqib Nabi and Umar Nazir.

Rohit was unable to get on top of Nazir, who continuously worried the Indian skipper with his perfect line and length, after getting off the mark in the opening over of the encounter with a single off Nabi's bowling. Nazir hit Rohit on the arm with a delivery that bounced awkwardly from the decent length. Nazir, the sole survivor of the J&K side who defeated Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy ten years ago, was extremely accurate.that in an attempt to break his rhythm, Rohit chose to skip along the course, but it had no effect.

Nazir threw one short and wide in the sixth over's penultimate ball. Like at the MCG, Rohit attempted to play the short arm pull shot by lifting his front leg in the same way that he had attempted to block Pat Cummins' delivery in the first innings of the Melbourne Test. However, the ball went huge on him, and all he could do was sky it to mid-off.

Gill and Jaiswal are also disappointing.

Prior to Rohit's termination, Nabi reprimanded Jaiswal, one of his opening partners. In order to trap Jaiswal in front, J&K's top wicket-taker of the season got one to jag back in from a good length. The left-hander started the game with a lovely square cut off the second ball, but he stayed back to the ball, which could have been avoided if he had taken a strong step forward.

India's third-ranked Shubman Gill disappointed in his first Ranji Trophy appearance in over two and a half years during the Karnataka vs. Punjab game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Gill was out for four. Gill last played for Punjab in July 2022.

In another incident, during Delhi's match against Saurashtra in Rajkot, Rishabh Pant was removed for just one run off ten balls.
