Although there were other tech CEOs present, their evolving friendship generated online discussion as internet users chastised Zuckerberg for seemingly shifting his political views.

In addition to Zuckerberg, other tech titans who attended the meeting included Sundar Pichai of Google, Tim Cook of Apple, and Jeff Bezos of Amazon and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez.

The businessman-turned-politician who had barred Trump from Facebook was once fiercely opposed by Zuckerberg. Donald Trump even threatened to throw the CEO of Meta in jail in one of his novels. The dramatic shift in dynamics continued to be a contentious issue among online users.

Netizens were quick to remind Mark Zuckerberg of his political position almost a year ago when he posted the picture of him and his wife at Trump's inauguration with the words "Optimistic and celebrating 🇺🇸."

"Billionaires are loyaltyless. They simply serve the interests of the powerful. Bill Gates recently had a three-hour dinner with Trump after contributing millions to the Kamala campaign. "It's a business decision [sic]," one person wrote in response to the message.

Another user added, "This is what fascism and plutocracy look like [sic]."
