When a ceasefire agreement is announced, Joe Biden calls Hamas "Hezbollah."

Watch: When a ceasefire agreement is announced, Joe Biden calls Hamas "Hezbollah."

Another blunder occurs when Joe Biden announces an Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar and calls Hamas Hezbollah.

Gaffes are nothing new to US President Joe Biden, particularly in the latter part of his presidency. His most recent one was given during a news conference about the ceasefire and hostage-release deal that Israel and Hamas had achieved. During the press conference, he mispronounced Hamas as Hezbollah.

During the Gaza War, Hezbollah, a militant organization supported by Iran, posed a threat to Israel from the northern front and backed Hamas.

A "ceasefire and hostage deal has been reached between Israel and Hamas," according to Joe Biden, who is seen in a video released by Sky News with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Vice President Kamala Harris just behind him.

He continues by saying, "More than fifteen months of conflict began with Hezbollah's brutal massacre on October 7th," when in reality, he was referring to Hamas, the militant organization from Gaza that carried out a vicious surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which sparked the war, which lasted for fifteen months.

Israel and Hamas cease-fire agreement
The much-needed truce and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas was mediated by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar. The agreement would end Israel's 15-month conflict with Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas invaded Israel, killing about 1,210 people, primarily civilians, and taking 251 captive. Over 46,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, were killed during Israel's more than year-long retribution.

Joe Biden stated at the news conference that the ceasefire agreement, which will take effect on January 19, will be carried out in three stages.

The agreement is divided into three stages. During the speech, Joe Biden stated that the first phase would take six weeks and would include a total truce, the evacuation of Israeli soldiers from all populated areas of Gaza, and the release of all hostages held by Hamas, including women, the elderly, and the injured.

In return, he said, Israel will free hundreds of Palestinian inmates. "A surge in humanitarian assistance in Gaza will begin during phase one, and the innocent people will have greater access to these essential supplies," he continued. "Palestinians can also return to their neighborhoods in all areas of Gaza."

According to Joe Biden, Israel will negotiate "necessary arrangements" to begin phase 2, which involves the permanent end of the war. The truce will remain in place, though, if the talks go on for more than six weeks.

Joe Biden stated, "The temporary ceasefire will become permanent when phase 2 begins, and there will be an exchange of the release of the remaining living hostages, including male soldiers, and remaining Israeli forces will be removed from Gaza."

Phase 3 will include the repatriation of any remaining captive remains to their families and the start of a comprehensive reconstruction plan for Gaza, he continued.
