Semantic indexing is integrated with conventional techniques in the new Windows Search. Searching for files within the system is made easier by semantic indexing, which enables the system to understand the meaning of words and phrases.
Users can utilize descriptive phrases to find files and photos with this functionality rather than having to recall specific names or content. In the Windows taskbar search box, for example, searches such as "bridge at sunset" or "Europe trip budget" can yield pertinent images or data. In order to look for particular system settings, users can also use natural language expressions.
This capability uses the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that is integrated into Copilot Plus PCs and operates fully on-device. Soon, cloud storage providers like OneDrive will be included in the search functionality, which was once restricted to local files. Settings search will eventually be integrated with the taskbar search box, but for now it can only be accessed through the Settings app's search bar.In the future, the feature will also be available on Copilot Plus PCs with AMD and Intel processors.

Document formats:.txt,.pdf,.docx,.doc,.rtf,.pptx,.ppt,.xls,.xlsx Languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish
File types:.jpg/.jpeg,.png,.gif,.bmp, and.ico
