The S&P 500 sank 0.77%, the Nasdaq Composite declined 1.35%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.03%.
After strong jobs data last week reinforced predictions that the Federal Reserve will remain hawkish for the majority of 2025, Wall Street equities opened down on Monday as rates increased.The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 13.8 points, or 0.03%, to 41,924.68 at the opening bell. The Nasdaq Composite slid 258.0 points, or 1.35%, to 18,903.664, while the S&P 500 fell 45.0 points, or 0.77%, to 5,782.02.
