Following Friday's market session, Vedanta Ltd.'s shares ended the day 1.8% higher at ₹457.90, up from ₹449.80 at the previous market close. The production data was made public by the company on Friday after market hours.
According to the company's nine-month production overview, overall aluminum production increased by 3% to 1,819,000 tonnes in the fiscal year 2024–25 from 1,772,000 tonnes the year before.
The corporation operates two production facilities, one under the subsidiary Bharat Aluminium corporation Ltd (BALCO) and the other in Jharsuguda.
Production of Zinc in India
In the mined metal segment, Vedanta's Zinc India production decreased by 2% year over year compared to the prior year.But in the December quarter, the company's total production of mined metals increased by 1% to 784,000 tonnes, up from 780,000 tons in the same quarter the year before.
The company explained the nine-month increase by pointing to higher mill recovery and mined metal grade.
In the exchange filing, Vedanta stated, "Mill recovery and improved mined metal grades drove the best-ever 9-month mined metal production."
