One of the top 10 bowlers with the most Test wickets taken by a pacer in a single year is Jasprit Bumrah. With an outstanding strike rate of 30.10 and a bowling average of 14.92, he claimed 71 wickets in 26 innings in 2024.

Among all the bowlers on the list, Bumrah's performance is the best in terms of bowling average and strike rate, demonstrating his effectiveness and supremacy in Test cricket.

Dennis Lillee of Australia tops the list with 85 wickets in 25 innings in 1981 while keeping a strike rate of 43.60 and a bowling average of 20.95. The legendary Alan Donald of South Africa comes next, taking 80 wickets in 26 innings in 1988 with an even higher average of 19.63 and a strike rate of 40.40.

Joel Garner, who took 79 wickets in 29 innings in 1984, is ranked third. The renowned West Indian fast bowler had a strike rate of 45.80 and a bowling average of 20.62.

In 2024 Test cricket, Bumrah was far ahead of his nearest bowling opponent. With 52 wickets in 21 innings, England pacer Gus Atkinson finished in second place.

Third on the list was England spinner Shoaib Bashir, who made his debut in 2024. In 25 innings, he claimed 49 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja and Matt Henry are tied for fourth place. In 21 innings, they each took 48 wickets.
