Rohit Kapoor of Swiggy Food Marketplace lists the top popular items ordered on New Year's Eve 2024: "The undeniable champion was..."

The CEO of Swiggy Food Marketplace, Rohit Kapoor, provided live updates on X as India rang in 2025, showcasing Bengaluru's most popular Hyderabadi biryani order and top Swiggy DineOut reservations. The festivities were made more exciting by his lighthearted remarks and behind-the-scenes information.

The CEO of Swiggy Food Marketplace, Rohit Kapoor, used Twitter to offer interesting information on the celebrations in Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune, Jaipur, and Kochi as India greeted 2025. In typical Swiggy fashion, Kapoor's tweets encapsulated the vibrant energy of these places, from ordering biryani to scheduling parties. His live updates gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the "war room" that works nonstop to make sure that the most popular dishes are served, but they also showed off the lighthearted and entertaining aspects of India's best meal delivery service.

This is the time of year when India is a hive of activity and everyone is anticipating the arrival of midnight. For Kapoor, however, the countdown is very different. Through his digital lens, Kapoor brought us closer to the center of the celebration as he live-tweeted the crazy, oddball, and delectable events taking place in the city on New Year's Eve. Let's just say that 2025 brought with it a lot of biryani, reservations for DineOut, and friendly food-fighting.

Kapoor began by posing a lighthearted question to his fans: What dish will be the most popular on New Year's Eve? The tone for a fun dinner was established by Kapoor's cryptic remark, "Answer: next year (AKA tomorrow), he will come and go."

Warning: it was biryani, and not just any biryani, but Hyderabadi biryani, Bengaluru's clear nighttime winner.

However, Kapoor's use of Twitter didn't end there. After a customer ordered Calcutta biryani without any potatoes (a crime against biryani lovers, no doubt), Swiggy made the lighthearted suggestion, "Brother, why don't you get Lucknow biryani? Therefore, the conversation went beyond culinary preferences. "You two continue to quarrel, but guess what? Kapoor made a lighthearted jab at the never-ending biryani disputes in India when he said, "Bangladesh is leading the charts for biryani orders."

As the evening wore on, Kapoor changed the subject to reveal something even more thrilling: plans for a party. He confirmed that Bengaluru was leading the way with the most Swiggy DineOut bookings, with Pune and Jaipur following closely behind. "Looks like going outside plans are in full swing these days!" he tweeted. The enthusiasm was evident, and Kapoor's tweet demonstrated that the party spirit was, in fact, very much alive and well throughout India.

Naturally, we also couldn't overlook the tweet about the "war room." Kapoor joked, "Order early, but don't worry, we're here for your afterparties & morning afters too," while posting a picture of the command center where Swiggy's operations crew was working nonstop to guarantee seamless deliveries. For those late-night cravings, nothing beats a little confidence (and the inevitable orders the morning after).

Kapoor also made a lighthearted remark on Kochi's amazing ordering statistics in comparison to Lucknow, as if keeping track of food orders wasn't enough. He brought some competitive spirit to the food delivery industry by tweeting, "Looks like their cricket team will have to make a comeback."

And Kapoor had the last laugh in Delhi, where tables were quickly filling up, when he tweeted, "A user has already saved a whopping ₹41,142 through @swiggydineout." The savings would only increase as the evening went on, and Kapoor's enthusiasm was infectious.
