Review of the quirky look with a dash of AI goodness of the Logitech Pop Icon Keys and Mouse

Review of Logitech Pop Icon Keys and Mouse: The Pop Icon combo, which costs ₹9,295, has a sleek appearance, a long battery life, and seamless connectivity, but some customers could be put off by the price and lack of backlighting.

Why should a keyboard and mouse be any different when artificial intelligence is present in everything from your laptops and smartphones to your televisions, cameras, and even your audio equipment? This gap is intended to be filled by Logitech's new Pop Icon Keyboard and Mouse, which makes ChatGPT literally only a click away.

Does the Pop Icon combo offer a luxury experience worth the ₹9,295 price tag (₹6,695 for the keyboard and ₹3,595 for the mouse)? I've been using the keyboard and mouse for more than two months, and this is my opinion on how well the combination works in practice.

Logitech Pop Icon Combo: Performance and Design
The four color options for the Logitech Pop Icon keyboard and mouse pair are rose and off-white, off-white and orange, graphite and green, and purple and off-white. I was given the pink one, which has pink and white keys and looks quite catching. The keyboard is undoubtedly striking, and if you share my minimalist style, you would be well advised to choose the green or off-white color.

The combination has an ergonomic shape and weighs about 80 grams for the mouse and 530 grams for the keyboard. I could easily fit the keyboard and mouse in my work bag because to their comparatively lightweight construction.

The Keyboard adopts a more traditional design in contrast to its predecessor's mechanical design. Typing is comparatively quiet and comfortable because to the keyboard's membrane switches. With a few clever improvements, the keys themselves are comparatively comparable to those found on a standard keyboard. The addition of mute and brightness up/down controls was quite appealing to me.

There is a small hump on the back of the keyboard that gives it stability even when typing quickly. Additionally, it has room for the Logitech USB dongle, which is regrettably not included in this bundle and must be purchased separately, as well as two AAA batteries.

Additionally, the keyboard lacks backlighting, which can be a deal breaker for people who work best at night. Given that even far less expensive keyboards on the market have built-in backlighting, I think this is a huge oversight on the part of Logitech.

Moving on to the mouse, this tiny device's simple two-tone pink finish makes a pleasant contrast to the colorful keyboard. Although the mouse's performance was flawless, persons with larger palms, like myself, may find it difficult to grip due to its small size.

The zipping sound the Logitech Pop mouse makes when you move the wheel rapidly is one of my favorite features. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know I'm a sucker for details. Even though it's a minor detail, it's the kind of thing that extends the time you can use your equipment.

Without changing the batteries, the keyboard and mouse are supposed to last three and two years, respectively. Although it is impossible to predict how long the batteries will last, I am more likely to believe Logitech because my mouse still has 95% of its battery left and my keyboard is 100% charged even though I seldom ever turn it off.

The keyboard and mouse set is compatible with all of the major operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, and Linux, in case compatibility was a concern. Holding down the F1/F2/F3 keys on the keyboard and the corresponding mouse button allows you to switch between up to three devices with ease.

AI on a keyboard: The Pop Icon combo's most notable feature is the accompanying Logi Options+ program, which is compatible with both Mac and Windows. Users may customize 15 keyboard buttons and 2 mouse buttons with this user-friendly program, which also lets users monitor the battery levels on both devices.

In addition to making it simpler to connect to ChatGPT using the built-in app, Logitech is also improving the prompt to better suit user demands. Any of the keyboard and mouse's customizable keys can be used to launch the AI prompt builder. Considering the tone and length needed for the activity, it can be used to provide prompts for rewording or summarizing content, responding to a discussion, or writing an email.

Although only ChatGPT is supported at the time, Gemini, Claude, and other chatbots might not be far away.

Although the prompt builder is unquestionably a nice place to start, I'm not totally sure how beneficial the tool is. In my experience, the customized instructions I made using ChatGPT produced better outcomes than the ones Logitech recommended.

Conclusion: If you want your equipment to stand out, you should choose the Logitech Pop Icon Keyboard and Mouse Combo. The silent typing experience, easy connectivity, extended battery life, and great software support, in my opinion, more than make up for the absence of backlighting and the additional expense for the USB dongle.
