The events prompted outgoing US President Joe Biden to postpone his last foreign trip.
Hollywood, the capital of the country's film and television industry, is located in Los Angeles, California. Since Tuesday, wildfires have grown to devour hundreds of homes and caused thousands of people, including some celebrities, to evacuate.
Pasadena, Altadena, and the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles—some of which are inhabited by well-known individuals—are the areas most affected by the flames.
Wildfires in Los Angeles that started on Tuesday and initially tore through the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood have reportedly claimed five lives. Three large wildfires in Los Angeles were still burning at the end of Wednesday, and numerous firemen were fighting to put them out in the windy circumstances.
Altadena, the Pacific Palisades, and other Los Angeles areas are experiencing wildfires.
In order to protect themselves from the rapidly spreading Palisades fire, tens of thousands of residents had to leave their houses. As firefighters used bulldozers to clear the area, several pricey vehicles, including Mercedes, Tesla, and BMW models, were destroyed in the fire.
Climate change-related factors including less rainfall and increased temperatures are major contributors to the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. These shifting climate trends have caused California's wildfire season, which normally lasts from June to October, to begin earlier and last longer in recent years.
One of the many images of wildfires in Los Angeles that were making the rounds on social media was an airplane involved in a firefighting operation, precisely dropping water to put out the fire at a section of the Hollywood Hills.

Billy Crystal, an American comedian and actor, and his spouse lost their 45-year-old home in a fire in Palisades, a posh neighborhood that is home to many famous people's homes.
The couple acknowledged in a statement that their house was one of hundreds of homes destroyed by fires in and around Los Angeles, as reported by the news agency Associated Press.
Since 1979, Janice and I have resided in our house. Here, we brought up our kids and grandkids. There was love in every square inch of our home. Lovely memories that are irreplaceable. Naturally, we are devastated, but we will overcome this with the support of our friends and kids," the Crystals wrote in the statement.
Several celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Cary Elwes, and Mandy Moore, have lost their homes in the fires. Tens of thousands of people have already left their homes because of the flames, and many more are still waiting to hear the status of their homes.
