Live updates on wildfires in Los Angeles: Many people of Los Angeles were on the move as a fierce wildfire burned through the city's suburbs in California. On Wednesday, firefighters showed up at the scene to assist in the rescue effort. Residents were terrified by the enormous fire that was started by storm winds, according to AFP.

Notably, a large number of Hollywood celebrities reside in the suburbs of Los Angeles. In order to flee the catastrophe, people abandoned their homes, their cars, and their feet. Multimillion-dollar mansions were destroyed by the roaring fire, which mapped 3,000 acres (1,200 hectares) of property in the Santa Monica Mountains, according to an AFP report.

Using bulldozers, the firefighting crews pushed dozens of high-end cars, including Mercedes and pricey BMW and Tesla models. As car alarms sounded amid the roaring flames, celebrities posted images and remarks about the situation on social media.

More than 1,400 firemen are currently on the ground, and hundreds more are on their way, according to California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Wildfire in Los Angeles LIVE: As California wildfires continue to burn, firefighters must contend with relentless winds.
Firefighters are working nonstop, but the strong winds—which can reach 60 to 80 mph—are making it difficult for them to make headway.

Because of the current wind conditions, it is difficult to confine the fire, according to Union President Brian Rice.

On the fire lines, firefighters work long shifts—some lasting 24 to 48 hours—without taking breaks.

Since the winds are now impeding firefighting efforts, the situation is mostly contingent on a change in wind patterns.

The region's dense population and steep terrain present additional challenges for firefighters, making suppression and evacuation operations more difficult. CNN
