"Like Emraan Hashmi loves lips, Kohli loves slips." Virat is criticized by fans after the Indian falls for the outside off-stump trap once more.

"Like Emraan Hashmi loves lips, Kohli loves slips." Virat is criticized by fans after the Indian falls for the outside off-stump trap once more.

While pursuing the ball outside off-stump in the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against Australia, Virat Kohli has been dismissed seven times.

On Day 1 of the fifth and final Test match in Sydney on Friday, Virat Kohli once again fell to Scott Boland's trap, continuing his terrible run against deliveries that were pitched outside off-side. TV replays revealed that Steve Smith had grounded the cherry, but Kohli, who had come in at the fall of Yashasvi Jaiswal, managed to avoid a first-ball duck by edging a delivery from Boland.

After that, Kohli shown patience by steadiing the Indian ship with a 40-run partnership with Shubman Gill for the third wicket in 106 balls, until the latter was dismissed just before lunch. After lunch, Kohli was comfortable playing the opposition in a very conventional manner with Rishabh Pant on his side.

He lost the wicket, though, because to a lack of focus and a desire to continue against the wide outside off-stump deliveries. In an effort to attack the ball's movement, Kohli, who appeared to have altered his stance in Sydney, was batting out of the crease.

Despite his attempts to play it softly, the ball took the edge and went to Beau Webster, who was making his debut. Using 68 balls, Kohli scored 17 runs. This was his fourth time against Boland and his eighth dismissal in this manner during the series.

The netizens were not pleased with Kohli's dismissal. One user commented, "Kohli loves slips like Hashmi loves lips." One even likened Kohli's skill at leaving balls to that of previous captain MS Dhoni.

Another commented, "Virat Kohli should take a cue from Thala on how to leave balls outside off-stump."

Regular captain Rohit Sharma 'decided to rest' from the match, and stand-in India captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and chose to bat instead.

They have replaced Akash Deep, who is injured, and Rohit, who has been dreadfully out of form. All-rounder Beau Webster made his debut for Australia as Mitchell Marsh was out of form. Former player Mark Waugh gave Webster his Baggy Green. Australia only needs a draw to win the series, while India needs to win the Test to keep the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The series is 2-1 in favor of the hosts.
