When the Argentine icon arrived to the French club in 2021, Brazilian football sensation Neymar Jr. reflected on his friendship with former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe and dropped a bombshell about the equation the players shared with Lionel Messi and each other.

In the summer of 2017, Neymar and Mbappe made two extremely expensive moves that altered the football landscape when they joined PSG during the same transfer window. Speaking on Brazilian sensation Romario's podcast, Neymar pondered on his relationship with Mbappe, who was a youngster when he arrived from Monaco.

I used to play with him all the time and told him he would be among the greatest. He came to my house and we had dinner together, and I always helped and spoke with him.

In Paris, Neymar and Mbappe were the backbone of a strong attacking group that led the team to the 2020 Champions League final. However, considering the magnitude of the expenditure, PSG's failure to win a Champions League trophy is viewed as a failure.

Neymar clarified, "After Messi arrived, he was a little jealous, but we had some good years of partnership." In 2021, the Brazilian reunited with his former FC Barcelona teammate after the Spanish team was unable to pay him what he wanted.

Despite spending two years together at PSG, Neymar, Mbappe, and Messi never quite clicked as the team's early Champions League elimination and league title loss to Lille left the management dissatisfied.

With Mbappe leaving on a free transfer to Real Madrid in 2024 and PSG looking to rebuild with fewer big-name players and a greater focus on domestic talent, the triumvirate was finally shattered.
