In the U19 World Cup, India crushed the West Indies thanks to seven wickets from Joshitha VJ, Parunika Sisodia, and Aayushi Shukla.
With a decisive nine-wicket victory over the West Indies at the Bayuemas Oval on Sunday, India kicked off their U19 World Cup title defense in spectacular fashion. Parunika Sisodia, Joshitha VJ, and Aayushi Shukla each took seven wickets.India managed to take charge of the match right away after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. Before Parunika (3-7) and Aayushi (2-6) brilliantly bowled the West Indies out for just 44 in 13.2 overs, pacer Joshitha, who was named Player of the Match, put a dent in their early innings by taking 2-5 in two overs.
The West Indies' poor running between the wickets, which cost them three scalps, also aided India. With nine wickets remaining and vice-captain Sanika Chalke and wicketkeeper G Kamalini both remaining undefeated at 18 and 16, respectively, India was able to chase down the target in just 4.2 overs in reply.
With her inquisitive opening spell, Joshitha made India's first breakthrough by trapping West Indies captain Samara Ramnath plumb lbw in her second over and then dismissing Naijanni Cumberbatch for a golden duck.

G Trisha was caught and bowled by Jahzara Claxton on the very next delivery after getting off the mark on the opening ball in the chase. Sanika then dominated by hitting three boundaries, particularly those that went through the cover area.
As the rain started to pour into the stadium, Kamalini also struck three fours, including the game-winning one that went over the keeper's head to give India a resounding victory.
