India's T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has been left out of the ODI squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and the match against England.
In order to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will begin in Pakistan and Dubai next month, India skipper Suryakumar Kumar Yadav acknowledged that he is disappointed that he hasn't performed well in ODIs. The Indian T20I team's skipper, Suryakumar, is not included in the roster for the ODI match against England.Suryakumar is one of the most deadly batters in cricket right now because of the variety of shots he can use. But with only 773 runs in 37 ODIs, the right-hander was unable to duplicate his T20I abilities in the 50-over format.
When asked whether or not his exclusion from the Champions Trophy squad and ODI matches against England affected him, Suryakumar gave a rather direct response. On the eve of India's maiden Twenty20 International match against England on Tuesday, the captain of India questioned, "Why would it hurt?"
"I would have won the Champions Trophy if I had performed well. It's crucial to acknowledge that I won't do well. Additionally, the (CT) squad is looking fantastic at the same moment. They all do well, whoever is present. They have performed admirably for India in that format and in domestic cricket, and I'm thrilled for them," he continued.
