Compared to ₹1.65 lakh crore in December of last year, the overall gross GST revenue increased 7.3% to ₹1.77 lakh crore in December.

In December, the gross GST collection reached ₹1.77 lakh crore, an increase of 7.3% year over year. According to government data provided on Wednesday, the Central GST collection was ₹32,836 crore, the State GST was ₹40,499 crore, the Integrated IGST was ₹47,783 crore, and the Cess was ₹11,471 crore.

According to the report, the overall gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue increased 7.3% to ₹1.77 lakh crore in December from ₹1.65 lakh crore in the same month the previous year.

While import tax collections increased by around 4% to ₹44,268 crore during the reviewed month, GST from domestic transactions increased by 8.4% to ₹1.32 lakh crore.

The GST mop-up in November was ₹1.82 lakh crore, up by 8.5% annually. Over ₹2.10 lakh crore was collected in April 2024, the biggest amount ever.

Refunds totaling ₹22,490 crore were given out throughout the month, representing a 31% increase over the same period last year. Net GST collection rose 3.3% to ₹1.54 lakh crore after refund adjustments.
