If Anupam Kher had declined to make Emergency, Kangana Ranaut claims she wouldn't have: "There is sincerity in his expression."

According to Kangana Ranaut, only Anupam Kher "can portray the role of Jayaprakash Narayan." He lavished Kangana with compliments as well.

Speaking about her co-star Anupam Kher from Emergency, actress Kangana Ranaut disclosed that if he had declined to work on the movie, she would not have made it. Kangana also referred to Anupam Kher as the movie's "hero" in an interview with news agency ANI.

Kangana discusses the value of having Anupam in case of emergency.

"Having Anupam ji in this movie was really important to me," Kangana stated. I would not have made it if he had refused to do Emergency. There is honesty in his face when you watch him on film. He is the only person who can play Jayaprakash Narayan.

Anupam praised Kangana as well. "When emergency was proclaimed, I was enrolled in New Delhi's National School of Drama. I therefore didn't have to conduct a lot of research for the movie because Kangana has already done it for everyone. This will rank among the best political films ever produced. Kangana works with ease. She has worked really hard on Emergency....It's not an easy task to both direct the entire movie and play Indira Gandhi, but Kangana did it. She's one of the best filmmakers I've ever worked with," he remarked.
