On Saturday, January 18, Ajit Agarkar, India's top selector, revealed the country's 2025 ICC Champions Trophy team. India will be led by Rohit Sharma in the eight-team ICC event, with Shubman Gill serving as his deputy. Sharma also attended the news conference held by the BCCI at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. OUT: Despite leading India's pace attack in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka last year, Mohammed Siraj has been left out of the squad for both the home series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy. Fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Harshit Rana, as well as all-rounders Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag, have all been excluded from the 50-over squad in addition to Siraj. Dube participated in each of the three ODIs against Sri Lanka, whereas Khaleel and Harshit were unable to play in any of them. Parag also appeared in the last match, where he also picked up three wickets.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, a 23-year-old left-handed top-order batsman from Mumbai, is also included in India's Champions Trophy team. The 2024 T20 World Cup champion gets selected for the ODI team for the first time on Saturday and has never participated in a 50-over match for India.
