Speaking at the beginning of formal celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the death of dictator Francisco Franco, Sanchez charged Musk with leading a "international reactionary" movement that "openly attacks our institutions, stirs up hatred, and openly calls for the support of the heirs of Nazism in Germany's upcoming elections."
The socialist premier also stated, "All of this is a problem, a challenge, a challenge that should challenge all of us who believe in democracy," during the ceremony held at Madrid's Reina Sofia art museum, which houses Pablo Picasso's collection.
Ahead of the country's February 23 snap elections, Musk has shown his strong support for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD). On Thursday, he will have a conversation on X with Alice Weidel, the leader of the party.
The millionaire has also demanded that Starmer be fired and that Tommy Robinson, one of the most well-known far-right agitators in Britain, be released from prison.
