Elon Musk Makes Fun of Trudeau for the Proposal for a Canada-US Merger, Saying "Girl, You're..."

Lawmakers, police enforcement, and the general public are likely to strongly oppose Trump's plans to use "economic force" to lure Canada into the US as he gets ready to enter office.

With a post directed at former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, billionaire Elon Musk has stirred much controversy. In response to Trudeau's statement on Wednesday that rejected a merger between the United States and Canada, Musk said, "Girl, you're not the governor of Canada anymore, so it doesn't matter what you say." Trudeau said, "There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States," to which Musk responded. Being each other's largest commercial and security partner benefits the communities and workers in both of our nations."

President-elect Donald Trump's claim that he will use "economic force" to make Canada the 51st US state has sparked a contentious debate. Since winning the election, Trump has promoted the notion that "many people in Canada LOVE being the 51st State" and that Trudeau quit because the US could no longer afford the "massive Trade Deficits and Subsidies" that Canada needs to survive.

Canadian politicians, including Trudeau, have widely criticized Trump's remarks, highlighting the advantages of the US-Canada relationship. Trudeau said that "workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other's biggest trading and security partner."

Trump's social media post of a warped map that depicts Canada as a part of the US with the phrase, "Oh Canada!" has intensified the dispute. The action has raised questions about the possible effects of Trump's policies as well as the future of US-Canada relations.

Musk also just replied to a post on X by MP Carleton Pierre Poilievre over Canada's sovereignty. "Canada will never be the 51st state," Poilievre had written. For a period. We are a wonderful, self-governing nation. In the United States, we are the best of friends. Helping Americans react against Al-Qaeda's 9/11 strikes cost us hundreds of lives and billions of dollars. We provide billions of dollars' worth of completely dependable, high-quality energy to the United States at prices far below the market. We purchase American goods worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

"Our feeble and pitiful NDP-Liberal administration has overlooked these clear-cut issues. I'll defend Canada. In order to secure Canada and the United States, we will reestablish our military and regain control of the border when I become prime minister. In order to keep China and Russia out, we will regain sovereignty of our Arctic. To return home paychecks and production to our nation, we will cut taxes, cut red tape, and quickly approve large resource projects. To put it another way, we will prioritize Canada.

"A referendum of the people is the essence of democracy!" Musk wrote in response to the post.
