Election date for Delhi: At 2:00 PM today, the Election Commission will release the timetable for the assembly polls.

The Election Commission of India will declare the date of the Delhi election at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7.

The schedule for the next Assembly elections in Delhi will be revealed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday, January 7, at 2:00 PM.

The Delhi Assembly election timetable will be announced at a news conference by the poll panel. On February 23, the 70-member Delhi Assembly's term comes to an end.

2020 saw the announcement of elections on January 6, polling on February 8, and vote counting on February 11.

While the BJP wants to seize control of Delhi, the AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, is aiming for a third consecutive term. In anticipation of an unexpected win, Congress is getting ready for a fierce challenge.

With 67 and 62 seats, respectively, the AAP dominated the 2015 and 2020 elections, while the BJP only managed single digits. After 15 years in power, the Congress was unable to secure any seats.

Despite running together as the INDIA bloc in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress and AAP will run independently in the next Assembly elections.

In order to constitute a new House, elections must be held prior to February 23, when the tenure of the 70-member Assembly ends.

For all parties, the Assembly elections are crucial. The AAP pledged that Arvind Kejriwal would return to power whenever Delhi's citizens once again trusted him after he resigned as chief minister in September after being granted bail in the liquor policy case.
