Even though the air quality remained in the "poor" level, Delhi was covered in a thick layer of fog in the early hours of Monday. The IMD has issued a yellow notice for Tuesday and Wednesday, predicting that the area will continue to have dense to very dense fog.
Visibility between 50 and 200 meters is considered "dense" fog by the IMD, while visibility below 50 is considered "very dense."
At Delhi Airport, numerous planes had delays but none were canceled or diverted.
Meanwhile, Northern Railways reported that the weather was causing at least 12 trains to be delayed by more than 30 minutes.
The minimum temperature in Delhi was 9.4°C, two degrees warmer than usual. A day ago, the temperature was 9°C. By Wednesday, the minimum is predicted to drop to about 7°C.
