Day 1 box office receipts for "Emergency": Kangana Ranaut's political drama begins with a lackluster Rs 2.35 cr

Kangana Ranaut's most recent political drama, Emergency, has started its theatrical run on a muted note, receiving mixed reviews from critics and viewers. Her previous film, Tejas, opened with Rs 1.25 crore, but Emergency has already surpassed that amount and exceeded industry analysts' expectations. According to industry tracker Sacnillk, the movie, which opened in theaters on January 17, made an estimated Rs 2.35 crore on its first day of release.

Emergency is Ranaut's biggest Hindi opener since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is a noteworthy milestone despite the lackluster reaction. Tejas, her last movie, made Rs 1.25 crore at the box office, but Emergency has already surpassed that amount and industry analysts' predictions. Kangana Ranaut plays the title character in Emergency, which explores the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Anupam Kher plays Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade plays Atal Bihari Bajpayee, and Milind Soman plays Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
