The highly anticipated Creta Electric has been formally unveiled by Hyundai, representing a major advancement in the company's goals for environmentally friendly transportation. In addition, the carmaker has started taking reservations for the electric SUV in advance of its anticipated debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Bookings can be secured by potential customers with a ₹25,000 deposit.

Updates to the Design

With a few significant exceptions, the Creta Electric's design is very similar to that of the 2024 Hyundai Creta. The front fascia has a redesigned bumper, a centrally located charging outlet, and a blanked-out grille. While it features freshly designed 17-inch aero alloy wheels, the side profile is nonetheless comparable to its internal combustion cousin. The SUV has a modified bumper to identify it as an EV, but it still has its distinctive tail lights at the back.

Range and Performance

A 51.4 kWh battery under the hood of the Creta Electric will provide a 473-kilometer ARAI-certified range. Nonetheless, under typical driving circumstances, its projected range on a full charge is 392 kilometers. A certified range of 390 kilometers is provided by a secondary 42 kWh battery version. Among the charging options are an 11kW Smart Connected wall box charger, which takes about four hours to fully charge the battery, and DC fast charging, which allows the battery to move from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes.

There will be three driving modes available for the Creta Electric: Eco, Normal, and Sports. It features a quick acceleration time of 7.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, albeit Hyundai has not yet revealed the motor output numbers.

Features and the Interior

With wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Creta Electric's infotainment and instrument cluster still have two screens, just like the ICE model. A 360-degree surround-view camera, an electric panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS, and a new dual-spoke steering wheel are among the improvements. A digital key, active air flaps for increased range economy, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability are further cutting-edge features.
