Netizens are stunned by the "dull" atmosphere at Coldplay's Mumbai concert to start off their India tour, even though tickets sold out in seconds.
Last Saturday, Coldplay's eagerly awaited performance at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium marked the beginning of their Music of the Spheres tour. The event's tickets caused a huge fan frenzy, selling out on BookMyShow in a matter of seconds. The resale prices of the tickets skyrocketed, with some being sold for as high as ₹1.5 lakh, which is significantly more than the ₹12,000 initial price. Nevertheless, despite the excitement, a lot of people complained that the concert did not live up to their expectations.Videos from unhappy guests were posted on social media sites like Instagram and X after the event. Aashish, one of the users, uploaded a video of the mother crowd to X with the caption, "Nahh man... WHAT IS THIS???? There are less people there than at a fucking library! Similar thoughts were expressed by another Instagram user who reposted a video of the performance with the comment, "A really cold play!" The video also struck a chord with viewers, who commented, "Vibe to achhi hai yar, peaceful hai, shanti hai." To padh bhi leta, ek book le jata. Most people in the audience agreed that they were more interested in taking pictures and making Instagram reels than they were in listening to the music."More than half of them are just there for Insta pics & listening to the songs for the first time," one commenter stated.
Coldplay performed in India for the second time at this event; their first was in November 2016. The band, which includes guitarist Jonny Buckland, drummer Will Champion, bassist Guy Berryman, and lead singer Chris Martin, will next play in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. With singles like "Yellow," "The Scientist," and "A Sky Full of Stars," Coldplay has a devoted following around the world.
