The political career of Chiranjeevi
Chiranjeevi launched the Praja Rajyam Party in Tirupati in 2008, marking the beginning of his brief political career. The party received a vote share of more than sixteen percent and won eighteen of the 294 seats in the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. The party amalgamated with the Indian National Congress in 2011. He assumed leadership as the Union Minister of State for Tourism later that year. But since 2014, he has avoided being involved in politics. Through the Jana Sena Party, which is in alliance with the TDP and BJP, his brother Pawan Kalyan is currently the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Chiranjeevi, who was last seen in the 2023 movies Waltair Veerayya and Bholaa Shankar, would shortly appear in the socio-fantasy movie Vishwambhara. The movie was going to be released during Sankranthi, but when the release date was rescheduled, his son Ram Charan's movie Game Changer took its place. Additionally, he has accepted a project from Srikanth Odela, and he is rumored to be the lead in a movie directed by Boyapati Srinu.
