China and India agree to resume direct flights and the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Additionally, China and India decided to encourage and support interpersonal interactions, particularly between think tanks and the media.

On Monday, China and India agreed to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, which had been halted since 2020. The decision was reached during a discussion between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

According to current accords, the relevant mechanism will talk about the procedures for doing so. A statement from the ministry of external affairs said, "They also decided to convene an early meeting of the India-China Expert Level Mechanism to discuss the resumption of providing hydrological data and other cooperation pertaining to trans-border rivers."

Resuming direct flights was also agreed upon in principle by all parties. Additionally, China and India decided to encourage and support interpersonal interactions, particularly between think tanks and the media.

The two parties evaluated the current systems for efficient exchanges. It was decided to gradually resume these discussions and use them to discuss each other's top concerns and areas of interest. In order to address these difficulties and advance long-term policy predictability and transparency, specific concerns in the trade and economic domains were considered, the MEA continued.

Vikram Misri is in Beijing for two days to attend a meeting of the Indian-Chinese Foreign Secretary-Vice Minister mechanism.

The agreement at the leadership level to explore the future steps for India-China relations, particularly in the political, economic, and people-to-people domains, is what led to the revival of this bilateral mechanism, according to the MEA.
