At the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, Honda unveiled the Activa e: scooter, which retails for ₹1,17,000 USD. With a 6 kW engine, interchangeable batteries, and a contemporary instrument console, it is designed to compete in the Indian market for electric two-wheelers with substantial support systems.

At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Honda formally unveiled the Activa e, their much awaited electric scooter. The Activa e, which retails for ₹1,17,000 (ex-showroom), is Honda's foray into India's cutthroat electric two-wheeler market.

A 6 kW (8 horsepower) Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor powers the Activa e, producing a maximum torque of 22 Nm. With two 1.5 kWh interchangeable battery packs, the scooter has a 102 km certified range between charges (Indian Driving Cycle).

The Activa e has a contemporary TFT digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, which enables navigation, call and SMS alerts, and music controls. Three settings are available to riders: Standard, Sport, and ECON. The Sport mode offers an exciting, dynamic ride, while the ECON mode is made to maximize range.

The Activa e's interchangeable battery technology is one of its main features. To accommodate this feature, Honda intends to build a vast network of charging stations. There are already more than 85 battery switching stations in Bengaluru, with one located within a 5-kilometer radius of the city. This network will shortly be extended to Delhi and Mumbai by Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited (HEID).

With a focus on electric three-wheelers, HEID has been running a test program for swappable charging stations since 2021. The Activa e and upcoming Honda electric scooters will now be included in this project.

With well-known competitors like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, and others, the Activa e joins a competitive market. With its state-of-the-art technology and strong support system, Honda hopes to have a big influence on the electric vehicle market.

Delivery of the scooter is expected to start in February 2025, and reservations have already started at a few stores in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.

The scooter is produced in Honda's plant in Karnataka, which is close to Bengaluru. This cutting-edge facility is set up to satisfy both export and domestic demand.
