Because of a tweet, Vivek Ramaswamy was fired from Elon Musk's DOGE. Online conjectures

Hours after Donald Trump was sworn in, Vivek Ramaswamy quit Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The White House said on Monday that Vivek Ramaswamy, the Indian-American businessman who ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, had departed the recently formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Hours after Donald Trump's historic inauguration as the 47th president of the United States, his departure from DOGE was officially announced. The White House said Monday that Trump had chosen him to co-lead DOGE with billionaire Elon Musk.

It was a privilege for me to assist in the establishment of DOGE. In a post on X (previously Twitter), Ramaswamy expressed his confidence that Elon and his team will be successful in simplifying the administration.

During the H-1B debate, Vivek Ramaswamy vented about American society.

In recent days, Musk wanted Ramaswamy out of DOGE, according to a Politico piece that cited three sources who asked to remain anonymous. According to the BBC, Ramaswamy's December tirade on X criticizing American culture because it "venerated mediocrity over excellence" irritated a lot of Republicans.

"A facile and incorrect argument for why top tech businesses prefer to hire foreign-born and first-generation engineers over 'native' Americans is that there is an underlying American IQ deficit. In a lengthy post on X on December 26, Ramaswamy stated, "A crucial component of it boils down to the c-word: culture," sparking a contentious discussion.

"For far too long, mediocrity has been valued more highly than excellence in our American culture."

Ramaswamy, who was born in Cincinnati to Indian immigrant parents, claimed that the American society will not create the best engineers because it favors the "prom queen over the math Olympiad champ, or the jock over the valedictorian."

More than 118 million people have viewed and commented on the post.

The 39-year-old Vivek Ramaswamy was seen as a close confidant of both JD Vance, who was inaugurated in as the US vice president, and Donald Trump. According to two persons with intimate knowledge of the situation, The Associated Press stated that he now intends to get ready to run for governor of Ohio.
