Over the course of his decades-long career, actor Shahid Kapoor has established himself as a celebrity and an actor, making him one of the most recognizable figures in the business. The actor is currently occupied with the promotion of his next movie, Deva, which opens in theaters the following week. Shahid revealed that he was made to feel "lesser" as a star at one point before to the release of Kabir Singh in an interview with Raj Shamani on his podcast channel.Shahid's words
"Ye Kabir Singh ke pehle mere saath hua tha," Shahid remarked during the conversation. As a mere andar jo kuch tha, I am inferior. Mehsoos karaya gaya mujhe aisa. Zabardasti nahi kisi ne kisi. As a person, as a celebrity, as an artist. Dala gaya ke mujhe aisa feel ho ke main kam hoon, mujhe aisa situation mein. This occurred with me prior to Kabir Singh. Aur yeh main kabhi accept nahi karunga. For whatever reason, I felt inferior. They made me feel less of a star and an artist. Although I wasn't coerced, I was placed in this predicament. That is very unacceptable to me.
"Your clothes seem better than mine."
He went on to explain, saying, "It seems like your clothing are better than mine. It's a comparison. There are times when life places you in a scenario when someone is close to you and makes you feel inferior. Nobody is to blame; I won't go into that. But for a while, that's what I experienced. And that's how I was taught to feel. I also resisted it. I am a survivor, so I am the main survivor.
Prior to Kabir Singh, Shahid featured in the multi-star films Rangoon, starring Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan, and Padmaavat, starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
Shahid's upcoming role as a police officer in Rosshan Andrews' action thriller Deva will feature him with Kubra Sait, Pavail Gulati, and Pooja Hegde. On January 31, Deva, which was produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, will be released in theaters.
