Delhi Election 2025: In an attempt to retake power after 27 years, the BJP releases its manifesto, which includes promises of ₹2,500 per month for women and LPG cylinder subsidies.
Delhi Election 2025: If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins the next Assembly Elections, it will give ₹2,500 a month to women in Delhi through the Mahila Samridhi Scheme, the party said on Friday. In addition to offering pregnant women ₹21,000, the saffron party has pledged to provide a ₹500 LPG cylinder subsidy and one free cylinder during Holi and Diwali if elected to power in the nation's capital.
"If we win power in Delhi, we would provide women with ₹2500 a month under the Mahila Samridhi Scheme. When BJP national president JP Nadda unveiled the first section of the manifesto, "Sankalp Patra," on January 17, he declared, "And we promise to roll out the scheme in the first cabinet meeting after coming to power."
The payment program is modeled after existing programs in other BJP-ruled states, like as Madhya Pradesh's "Ladli Behna Yojana" and Maharashtra's "Ladki Bahin Yojana."
Rejecting the AAP plan
The program stands in stark contrast to the ruling AAP's "Mahila Samman Yojana," which promised women in the nation's capital ₹2,100 each month. If the Congress party gains control of the nation's capital, it has also pledged to provide women with a payment plan of ₹2,500 per month.
The second and third portions of the "Sankalp Patra" would be released by the party in the coming days, according to Nadda. The saffron party will maintain all current welfare programs if it wins control of the nation's capital.
"We had a 99.99 percent fulfillment rate in 2014, fulfilling 499 of the 500 promises we made. We reached 95.5% completion in 2019 after making 235 promises and keeping 225 of them. The remaining promises are still in the execution stage. Welfare, development, decent governance, women's empowerment, and the advancement of farmers continue to be our top priorities. Before announcing the manifesto, Nadda declared, "A BJP government will maintain all welfare programs currently in operation in Delhi."
February 5 is the date of the Delhi Election 2025 for 70 assembly seats. On February 8, the results will be made public.
Nadda stated, "Whatever I say today means we will fulfil all the promises," pointing out that the BJP has fulfilled more than 90% of its pre-election pledges in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
In Delhi, the saffron party has not held sway for 27 years. In 2015 and 2020, Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) easily won assembly elections. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2013, the Congress had power.
In the last two elections, the BJP only managed a handful of seats in the Delhi legislature. Before 2013, the Congress ruled Delhi for 15 years before being totally destroyed.
