Sood made it plain that he had no interest in going into politics, even in the face of numerous advances from influential political individuals.
"I even received an offer to become Chief Minister. They said, "Why not Deputy Chief Minister?" when I declined. These offers, which included a seat in the Rajya Sabha, were made by some of the most powerful individuals in the nation. It was a weird encounter, Sood recalled, "They said, 'Join us, you don't need to fight elections, just be with us.'"
The actor, reflecting on the attraction of power, likened climbing a mountain to achieving fortune and renown. The air gets thinner and you have less oxygen as you get older. The question is, "How long can you stay there? You can go higher," he said. Others pushed him to take the jobs, with some wondering why he would decline such chances, but Sood continued to stand by his choice.
Sood clarified that his personal principles were the reason he was reluctant to get involved in politics. "For many people, politics is about getting rich or powerful," he stated. "I'm not interested in either of those things. Without having to answer to anyone, I'm already helping others in my own unique way. I would be held responsible if I were in politics.

"I've been informed that a career in politics would provide me with a distinguished position with official government letterhead, great security, and a home in Delhi. Although that sounds alluring, I'm not yet prepared for it. My viewpoint may shift in the future, but for now, I'm happy with where I am," he remarked.
Sood, who is now getting ready for the premiere of his latest movie, Fateh, talked about his unshakable love for movies. "I genuinely love this world, and I still have an inner director and actor," he said. "Perhaps when I feel like I've done everything in this field, I’ll think about other paths. But for now, I’m focused on acting and directing, and that’s where my heart lies," he added.
