Jasprit Bumrah has tied Ravindra Jadeja's record of 44 matches and is the fastest bowler from India to reach 200 Test wickets. Travis Head was his landmark wicket in the fourth Test match between Australia and India in Melbourne.
Together with colleague Ravindra Jadeja, who achieved the feat in 44 Test matches, Jasprit Bumrah is now the fastest Indian bowler to reach 200 wickets in Test cricket. In the third innings of the fourth Test match between Australia and India in Melbourne, Bumrah took out Travis Head (1), marking his 200th wicket.With his 200th wicket, Jasprit Bumrah makes history. He is also the first bowler in Test history to take 200 or more wickets at an average of less than 20. Joel Garner, the great of the West Indies, set the record with an average of 20.34, but Bumrah beat him.
Fastest bowler to 200 wickets: In terms of balls bowled, Bumrah also surpassed Mohammed Shami to become the fastest bowler from India to reach the 200th wicket milestone. Bumrah just needed his 8484th delivery to accomplish the milestone, whereas Shami had done so on his 9896th ball. Waqar Younis, Dale Steyn, and Kagiso Rabada are the only bowlers in the world who have taken 200 wickets more quickly than he has.
