Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma commemorated the 25th anniversary of his iconic gangster movie Satya from 1998 this year. Manoj Bajpayee, Shefali Shah, Urmila Matondkar, and JD Chakravarthy were among the actors that starred in the movie. For those who enjoy the crime drama, the filmmaker has now revealed an interesting revelation.

According to a news made by Ram Gopal Varma on his official X Twitter, Satya will be re-released in theaters on January 17, 2025. "SATYA is returning to theaters on a re-release with ALL GUNS BLARING on JAN 17th, 2025," he captioned the photo.The UPPERWORLD will soon be invaded by the UNDERWORLD.

"The re-releases that have worked well are not essentially blockbusters of yesteryear's," the filmmaker added, reposting a tweet from a film trade expert. These are cult movies that questioned and altered cinematic conventions. #Satya is one of those movies! I'm eager to see it in a theater on January 17! "Amen!" replied Ram Gopal Varma in the caption.

Concerning Satya
Actor Saurabh Shukla and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap co-wrote Satya, which was produced and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Sanjay Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Aditya Srivastava, Govind Namdeo, late Neeraj Vora, Paresh Rawal, Makarand Deshpande, Saurabh Shukla, and Sushant Singh are also featured.

The main character of Satya, played by JD Chakravarthy, is a Mumbai immigrant. He is imprisoned following a local altercation, where he meets mobster Bhiku Mhatre (Manoj Bajpayee). Then, Bhiku and his group entice Satya to join them in a more extensive criminal plot.

With Satya, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj made his debut as a composer. Even now, his songs like Sapno Mein Milti Hai are popular. Gulzar is the author of the lyrics.

Earlier this year, Ram Gopal Varma directed the Telugu political thriller Vyooham. Next year, Raj & DK's spy thriller series The Family Man season 3 on Prime Video India will include Manoj Bajpayee, who most recently starred in Kanu Behl's thriller The Despatch on ZEE5.
