Share Market Highlights: Driven by the blue-chip rally, the Sensex and Nifty continue to advance for the third session.

Updates for the Sensex and Nifty on December 3, 2024: Tuesday marked the third straight day of advances for benchmark indexes Sensex and Nifty, which were propelled by robust purchases of blue-chip companies like HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries as well as favorable developments in international markets. The BSE Sensex peaked at 80,949.10 during the day and then increased 597.67 points, or 0.74%, to end the session at 80,845.75. The NSE Nifty closed at 24,457.15, up 181.10 points, or 0.75%. Adani Ports, which jumped by about 6%, was one of the 30-member Sensex group's notable gainers. Other important contributors to the index's increase were NTPC and UltraTech Cement. Stocks like ITC and Bharti Airtel, however, underperformed. Globally, European markets shown encouraging trends, while Asian markets saw advances.

Strong domestic interest in the market is demonstrated by the fact that domestic institutional investors bought shares totaling Rs 3,588.66 crore, while foreign institutional investors sold stocks worth Rs 238.28 crore.

Currency market updates: a strong dollar keeps the Indian Rupee stable at 84.6850
At 84.6850 to the US dollar, the Indian rupee ended the day essentially unchanged. A generally stronger dollar and a decline in the offshore Chinese yuan caused it to drop to a record low earlier.

Today's live stock market: As a subsidiary buys Sundaram Auto's plastic components sector, Pricol shares rise 1.8%.
Following the company's announcement today that its subsidiary, Pricol Precision Products (PPPL), will purchase Sundaram Auto Components Ltd.'s injection-molded plastic component solutions division for a total of ₹503, shares of Pricol Ltd. increased 1.85% to ₹503.

Closing bell: Nifty surpasses 24,250 levels; Sensex adds about 600 points

The Nifty 50 concluded higher by 181.10 points, or 0.75%, at 24,457.15, while the Sensex ended 597.67 points, or 0.74%, higher at 80,845.75.

Swiggy, a food and grocery delivery service, announced a smaller quarterly loss on Tuesday due to strong order growth in both its rapid commerce and food delivery divisions. Swiggy is a recently listed company.
