Salman Khan was not killed by Baba Siddique's assailants, despite their best efforts

One of the suspects disclosed during interrogation that Salman Khan was on the shooter's hit list but was inaccessible because of strict security.

According to India Today, the suspects in Baba Siddique's murder had intended to murder Bollywood star Salman Khan before going after the NCP leader.

One of the suspects admitted during interrogation that Salman Khan was on the shooter's death list but was hard to get in touch with because of strict security measures.

On October 12, Baba Siddique, 66, was shot and killed outside the Bandra East, Mumbai, office of his son Zeeshan Siddique. After being taken to Lilavati hospital with two gunshot wounds to his chest, he was pronounced dead.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been notoriously targeting superstar Salman Khan since the star allegedly hunted a blackbuck, an animal revered by the Bishnoi community, was connected to all three attackers.

Two shooters on bikes fired late at night outside Salman Khan's Bandra home on April 14 of this year. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang was also connected to the gunmen, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, who were apprehended in Gujarat.

In addition to the threats alleged by the Bishnoi gang, Salman Khan has also been threatened. A man claiming to be Lawrence Bishnoi's brother threatened to pay ₹5 crore or apologize for killing a black deer in November.

A Jamshedpur vegetable vendor was arrested in October after he demanded ₹5 crore in ransom. Khan received a death threat shortly after and was also asked to pray for ₹2 crore.

A 20-year-old male from Noida was also taken into custody by Mumbai police in relation to a threatening phone call that was placed to the actor.

Salman Khan has received Y+ security in reaction to these threats, and the security measures surrounding his home have been reinforced.

For further security, high-resolution, AI-powered CCTV cameras with facial recognition technology have also been placed throughout his home.
